Description

We are looking for part-time Manager to join our team in a family friendly, exciting, and fast paced environment. We are looking for individuals with exceptional customer service skills, who are able to work in a team oriented environment. Part-time Managers starting hourly rate is $20.00 and would work weekends and some Fridays. 

 

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Coordination and Supervision – Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of various departments in the organization.

  • Supervise and coach supervisors and other employees on a daily basis.

  • Best Practices – Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations, and procedures.

  • Human Resources – Plan the use of human resources. Organize recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish organizational structures. Delegate tasks and accountabilities. Establish work schedules. Supervise staff. Monitor and evaluate performance. Monitor and adherence to State and Federal Labor Laws.

  • Payroll management, including tabulation of accrued employee benefits.

  • Production – Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production, warehousing, pricing and distribution of goods. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary.

  • Communication – Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT, HR, Accounts and Finance. Facilitate coordination and communication between support functions.

  • Sales, Marketing and Customer Service – Manage customer support. Plan and support sales and marketing activities.

  • Strategic Input – Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity. Implement and manage operational plans.

  • Logistics management – The Assistant Manager ensures that the machinery and equipment used have the ability to produce goods and services for the client at an acceptable standard. The operations manager also coordinates with other personnel to ensure that the goods meet an acceptable standard and generates positive feedback from clients. The manager may interact with the employees, prepare reports on the current condition of logistics, and decide on the next course of action.

  • Operational strategizing – Apart from logistics management, the operations manager plays a key role in chalking out the overall operational policy. For example, the operations manager could determine the types of equipment needed to fulfill the organizational quality policy. The operational manager could also formulate suggestions on how to make optimum use of the resources of the organization.

  • Manage support services – Each support service has its own set of capabilities and key responsibility areas that finally contribute to the organizational goal. The operations manager plays a vital role in maximizing the output of the various support services such as IT, finance and HR. For example, the manager may – in consultation with the IT services personnel – procure Servers that helps the organization store huge amount of confidential data in a secure manner.

  • Managing third party relations – An organization may make use of different third party services, such as security, administrative assistants, and office conveyance. The operational manager needs to ensure that standard procedures are followed when third parties are hired. Also, the manager needs to ensure that the necessary administrative and legal formalities are completed. Lastly, the manager ensures that the third party properly executes the agreed terms and conditions.

  • Safety and Risk Management – Serve as primary liaison to legal counsel in addressing legal issues.

  • Oversee organizational insurance policies, adherence to safety and risk management.

  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.

 

 

Education and Training

 

The following are commonly required in the operations manager role.

 

  • College degree minimum B.A. preferred 

  • At least 3 years’ experience in business management.

  • Strong background and work experience in business.

  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, work, outlook, and access.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Knowledge and experience in organization effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.

  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.

Knowledge and Experience

 

The fulfillment of the expectations that come from wearing multiple hats seems to be the most challenging aspect of an Assistant Manager’s job. While the manager may not be expected to be a specialist in everything, the expectation to do well in each different role will continue to throw fresh challenges at the role. The role of an operations manager is probably one of the most challenging roles in the industry.
